Responsibilities The Communications Specialist may be responsible for: - Coordinating all activities associated with the installation and maintenance of Microwave radio, WiMAX, WLAN, 450 MHz – 900 MHz and spread spectrum SCADA radios, VSAT, Terminal servers.
- Troubleshoot and maintain radios in support field of automation efforts.
- Coordinating all activities associated with radios at the assigned location including: programming, deployment, refresh, repair, supplies inventory, inventory control, rentals, special projects, and planning for future and ongoing operations, maintenance, projects, and safety.
- Analyzing problems in radios and associated equipment for repair/replacement.
- Where it applies in the support of the above knowledge of voice and data circuits as well as typical LAN/WAN equipment. This may include voice infrastructure including but not limited to PBX systems.
- Maintain relationships with business partners for the successful completion of projects and company goals.
Qualifications Basic/Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient with transmission line/antenna performance and analysis tools including but not limited to Anritsu spectrum analyzer and IFR service monitors.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full time basis without restrictions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Travel with the USA and abroad.
- Must be drug free.
Preferred Qualifications - Proficient (perform the skill with limited assistance) with MS Office.
- Three years direct experience in operating and utilizing RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, radio service monitor.)
- Three years of direct experience supporting radio systems.
- Ability to manage Projects and supervise vendors for the safe completion expected duties.
- Excellent analytical skills, diagnostic skills, organizational skills, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of operations personnel, GIS personnel, and corporate personnel.
- Comtrain Tower Climber certification.
- Andrew Corp. Commscope certification.
